## Questions

### Do you bill insurance carriers directly?

Yes. Estimates, photographs, structural measurement reports, scan results and supplements go to the assigned adjuster, and the approved portion is invoiced to the carrier. The fleet is responsible for the deductible and any fleet elected work. Both portions appear separately on one invoice so the accounting reconciles without a phone call.

### Can a fleet choose its own repair shop?

Yes. California law limits an insurer from requiring that repairs be performed at a specific facility. A carrier may suggest a shop in its program and explain what that program covers, but the vehicle owner selects where the work happens. Telling the adjuster the destination early, in writing, prevents a week of drift.

### Are the carriers you name affiliated with this shop?

No. Naming a carrier describes billing and claim handling experience only. It is not a statement of affiliation, endorsement, sponsorship, or membership in any insurer authorized repair network. All carrier names and marks belong to their respective owners, and the fleet always selects its own repair facility on every claim.

### What is a supplement?

A supplement is a written request to add work to an approved repair plan after teardown exposes damage that was invisible at the first inspection. It carries photographs, measurements and the manufacturer procedure requiring the added operation. Nothing proceeds on unfunded damage until the carrier or the fleet authorizes it in writing.

### What happens if the carrier estimate is lower than the repair plan?

The difference gets documented line by line and submitted with photographs, structural measurements and the manufacturer repair procedure supporting each disputed operation. Most gaps close within one supplement cycle. Anything still open after that is presented to the fleet in writing before work continues, so nobody discovers a shortfall at pickup.

### Who pays the deductible?

The fleet, and it is due at pickup along with any other fleet portion such as betterment lines, amounts above a cap, or fleet elected upgrades. On a multi unit incident, confirm in writing whether the deductible applies per occurrence or per unit before authorizing the first teardown, because that reading can be a large swing.

### Can an appraiser inspect a unit at the shop?

Yes. Adjusters and appraisers are welcome to inspect units in the bays at 23281 E La Palma Ave in Yorba Linda. Moving a damaged unit from a storage yard into a repair bay before the inspection stops storage charges from accruing and lets teardown start the moment written approval arrives.

### What documentation is provided for the claim file?

Photographs at intake, teardown, mid repair and delivery, structural measurement reports, the manufacturer repair procedures used, pre repair and post repair scan reports, calibration records, and an itemized invoice separating carrier and fleet portions. That package is standard practice on every job rather than something a fleet has to request.

### Should a damaged unit go to a tow yard or straight to the shop?

Straight to a repair facility whenever possible. Storage accrues daily in a tow yard and a carrier typically pays only what it considers reasonable for the window it authorized. An appraiser can inspect a vehicle in a repair bay just as easily, so moving it early stops the meter and shortens the calendar.

### How are self insured fleets handled?

The same way, with authorization coming from whoever holds signing authority at the fleet rather than from an adjuster. Purchase order numbers carry through to the invoice. The full documentation package is still produced, because lessors, auditors, buyers and any third party recovery effort all need those records regardless of who funded the repair.

### Is upfit equipment covered on a claim?

Only if it appears on the policy equipment schedule. A liftgate, service body, crane, refrigeration unit or shelving package added after the unit was scheduled is frequently excluded, because the carrier never knew it existed and never collected premium for it. Auditing the schedule annually and after every upfit prevents that discovery.
