Trailer and chassis body work covers the sheet, posts, decking, structural members, lamp circuits and hardware that make up a commercial trailer. Scope is body, structure, lighting and coating: skin panels, uprights, crossmembers, flooring, landing gear, coupler hardware, tie down systems and corrosion control. Santa Ana fleets bring units to the Yorba Linda shop for all of it.

Trailers earn money by being loaded, and loading is what breaks them. A dry van that spends five years absorbing forklift strikes, dock bumps and yard hostler shunts collects bent uprights, split skin seams, loose rivet lines and soft decking long before anything looks dramatic from fifty feet away. Santa Ana distribution fleets tend to find the damage when a load shifts or a driver puts a foot through a board.

This shop treats a trailer as a structure first and a box second. Skin does not hold a trailer square, posts and rails do, and decking does not carry a pallet jack, crossmembers do. Every trailer that comes in gets walked from the nose to the rear frame with the floor sounded and the rivet lines read, because a sidewall repair over a bent upright will be back within a season.

Everything here is performed in shop at 23281 E La Palma Ave in Yorba Linda. Santa Ana operators run SR-55 north to SR-91 east and cover the seventeen miles in roughly 22 to 35 minutes depending on the hour, which is close enough that most fleets drop a trailer, take a spare, and swap back at pickup rather than idling a tractor in the yard.

Scope is deliberately narrow. This is body, structural, lighting circuit and coating work on trailers and chassis. It is not a running gear shop and it does not pretend to be one, which is exactly why fleet managers use it for the panel, floor, frame and hardware side of the fleet and keep their other vendor for the rest.

## Questions

### Do I have to bring the trailer to you, or can you come to my Santa Ana yard?

The trailer comes here. All work is performed in shop at the Yorba Linda facility, because skin sectioning, crossmember welding and coating work need fixturing, extraction and a controlled space. Santa Ana yards are 17 miles out, roughly 22 to 35 minutes on SR-55 north to SR-91 east, so most fleets shuttle a unit over in the morning and keep running.

### What kind of trailers do you take?

Enclosed dry vans, refrigerated vans, flatbeds, drop decks, stake and utility trailers, curtain siders and container chassis. Length is not a problem. The scope is body, structure, decking, lighting circuits and mounted hardware. Work involving running gear, air systems or wheel end components is not performed here and is referred back to the fleet maintenance vendor.

### How fast can you turn a damaged sidewall around?

Most single bay skin and post repairs land in the moderate body band at 4 to 8 business days. Floor and frame work runs structural at 2 to 4 weeks because crossmember replacement, decking and refinish stack up. Lighting and tie down jobs are usually 1 to 3 business days. Parts availability moves those numbers more than shop capacity does.

### Will insurance pay for trailer damage?

Skin, post, floor, frame and landing gear damage from an impact is routinely billed direct to the carrier, and appraisers are handled here as part of the file. Wear items like corrosion coating, tie down upgrades and lighting refresh are almost always fleet pay because there is no loss event behind them.

### Can you work on several trailers at once so I am not down a whole week?

Yes. Multi unit work is scheduled in staggered releases so a Santa Ana fleet gets units back in waves rather than all at the end. Send a list with unit numbers and damage notes ahead of the drop and the sequence gets built around which trailers you need first.

### Do you handle both aluminum and steel trailer structures?

Both. Aluminum sheet and post, bonded aluminum plate, galvanized and painted steel crossmembers, and steel main rails are all in scope. Aluminum and steel are welded to separate procedures with separate filler and separate prep, and dissimilar metal joints get isolated so the repair does not start a galvanic problem.
