Paint and Refinishing for Santa Ana Fleets
Paint and refinishing is the process of preparing a commercial vehicle surface, applying primer, color, and clear coat, then curing the film to a measured thickness. It covers single panel blends through complete unit resprays, and it is what keeps a Santa Ana fleet reading as one uniform color across mixed model years.

Paint on a commercial unit is a brand asset with a service life. A Santa Ana fleet that holds its color standard tight looks like an operation that maintains its equipment, and a fleet carrying four shades of white in one yard looks like an operation that does not. Customers read that before they read the lettering on the door.
The work splits two ways. Restoring what is already on the unit, which covers correction, clear coat repair, and spot work, and replacing what is on the unit, which covers panel refinishing, cab and chassis respray, and full repaints. The decision between them comes down to remaining film thickness, adhesion, and how many previous repairs the unit already carries.
Everything sprayed here goes through a downdraft booth with a bake cycle, on low VOC waterborne base and two component urethane clear that sit inside the air district limits that apply in this basin. Color is read off the unit itself with a spectrophotometer and verified on a sprayed letdown card before the gun touches a panel.
Fleet Services OCRV is at 23281 E La Palma Ave in Yorba Linda, about seventeen miles from Santa Ana. Most operators run SR-55 north to SR-91 east and reach the door in twenty two to thirty five minutes. All work is performed in shop. Scheduling and written estimates go through (714) 909-1844.

FAQ Questions
Paint and Refinishing questions from fleet managers
How far is the shop from Santa Ana?
About seventeen miles. Most Santa Ana yards take SR-55 north to SR-91 east and reach the shop in twenty two to thirty five minutes outside of peak hours. Fleets typically send a driver with a chase vehicle, or schedule two units at once so one driver can shuttle back. All work happens at the shop in Yorba Linda.
Do you paint a whole fleet or only one unit at a time?
Both. Booth capacity is the limit on full resprays, so a large program gets scheduled as a rolling schedule across several weeks rather than all at once. Smaller work like spot refinish and correction runs in batches, and most Santa Ana accounts send three or four units through at a time on a rotation that keeps the board full.
Is the paint you spray compliant with California air quality rules?
Yes. Everything sprayed here is a low VOC system, waterborne basecoat with two component urethane primers and clears, inside the limits that apply to this air basin. The performance question people used to ask about waterborne is settled. It hides in fewer coats and holds metallic orientation better than the solvent bases it replaced.
Can you bill our insurance carrier directly for paint work?
On collision related refinishing, yes. Color match, blend work, and spot refinishing after an incident are routinely billed direct to the carrier, and appraisers are welcome at the shop by appointment. Wear related work such as clear coat failure, oxidation, and planned repaints is not a claim item and is billed to the fleet.
How long before a repainted unit can go through a wash tunnel?
Give it thirty days before automated washing, hot wax, or close range pressure washing. The film is hard enough to drive and handle the day it leaves the booth, but it keeps cross linking for weeks after that. Hand washing with pH neutral soap during that window is fine and is what we recommend for the first month.
Can you match a corporate color from a brand standard document?
We can start from a specified color reference and we will spray a letdown card for approval before committing to a unit. The complication on an existing fleet is that the trucks already on the road have drifted from that standard, so a new unit sprayed exactly to the brand color will not match the yard. Most fleets pick one or the other and we lay out both.
