Newer builds lean on FRP panels bonded to the frame with structural adhesive and far fewer fasteners. Repair method follows what the body actually is, which means identifying the construction before quoting rather than assuming from the outside.

How is a damaged skin section replaced?
Replacement is done at a joint line rather than at the edge of the damage. Cutting mid panel leaves an unsupported joint that flexes with every load cycle and eventually opens.

Replacement rivets match the original diameter and grip length, because a rivet with the wrong grip either fails to clamp or crushes the skin. Where the body was bonded, the old adhesive is removed back to sound substrate and new structural adhesive is applied at the specified thickness.
Sealing closes the job. Every seam and every rivet head gets sealed with a product compatible with the panel material, and the repaired area is water tested before the unit is released. Is it cheaper to replace the whole body than repair it?
Occasionally, and that gets said plainly when it applies. A body with widespread corrosion at the bottom rail, multiple bent posts and a racked rear frame can pass the cost of a replacement body.
